On October 1, 2000, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) officially established the semiautonomous Construction Institute (CI).  The Construction Institute incorporates the former ASCE Construction Division, the ASCE Materials Division and the ASCE Construction Standards Council.  The Construction Institute is the first national organization designed to meet the needs of all individuals working within the construction industry. It is fully inclusive, with active membership available to construction industry practitioners from all occupational and educational backgrounds. CI offers individuals and organizations the opportunity to network with other professionals, sharpen skills and shape the future of the industry by participating in technical activities, conferences and the development of internationally recognized standards.

North American Telecommunications Damage Prevention Council (NTDPC)

The North American Telecommunications Damage Prevention Council (NTDPC), is a non-competitive forum dedicated to promoting the protection of underground facilities, subsurface facility awareness and the use of One Call notification systems. Our goal is to prevent damage to the buried facilities that form our nation's telecommunications infrastructure, the integrity of which, being vital to the national interests of the United States.




National Utility Locating Contractors Association (NULCA)

The National Utility Locating Contractors Association (NULCA), formed in 1994, is an organization of locators, facility owners, One-Call centers, S.U.E. companies, excavators and industry suppliers that share a common interest in safety and damage prevention. The mission of NULCA is to define, establish, and maintain high standards and practices in the underground utility contract locating industry. Its top priority is the safety of the general public, excavators, and locating employees. NULCA seeks to accomplish its mission by partnering with facility owners, excavating contractors, suppliers & regulatory agencies and by taking a lead role in the elimination of underground facility damage.





The Western Society for Trenchless Technology (WESTT)

The Western Society for Trenchless Technology (WESTT) is a regional chapter under the North American Society for Trenchless Technology.  WESTT covers a geographic area including Arizona, California, Nevada, and New Mexico.  Its main objective is to provide education on trenchless technologies.

The Underground Safety Alliance (USA) was incorporated in November 2005, as a not for profit umbrella organization for “Call Before You Dig” one call centers. The founding members were Kentucky Underground Protection Inc. (KUPI), now known as Kentucky811, and Indiana Underground Plant Protection Service Inc. (IUPPS). The Board of Directors is comprised of three members from the Boards of Directors of each of the participating states. The By-Laws and accounting structure were formed in such a way as to allow other one call organizations to join in the future.

The purpose of our organization is to share as many resources as possible in order to operate in the most efficient manner. Additionally, it is the goal of USA to provide industry leading damage prevention and underground utility safety awareness programs. Acting collaboratively, the quality of efforts and the economies of scale, improve the overall performance of each member one call and improves public safety for the states involved.
