Signaltape® provides clear, long-lasting identification of buried utilities. It enhances excavation safety by alerting crews to underground hazards before costly damage occurs by withstanding the shear forces of excavation.
The high-strength fiber core inside the tape prevents it from shearing underground, allowing it to pull to the surface and effectively alert the excavation crew.
Available with or without tracer wire. Detectable versions support traceability, while nondetectable options offer cost-effective protection for projects where locatable tape isn’t required.
Tape lays flat and does not tear easily. All variations come in dispenser boxes designed to facilitate a quick, efficient installation.

Choose the right configuration for your project. Customizable options are available to match your utility type and identification requirements.
Red is used to serve as a warning for the presence of electric power lines, cables, and conduit.
Orange is used to indicate the presence of telecommunication lines, alarm or signal lines, cables, and conduit.
Yellow is used to warn of underground gas, oil, steam, petroleum, and other gaseous materials.
Green is used to indicate the location of sewers and drain lines.
Blue is used to indicate the presence of drinking water lines (clean, potable water).
Purple is most often used for reclaimed water but is also used to indicate user-defined utilities such as irrigation lines.

Recommended for small-diameter utilities up to four inches wide, such as service laterals, conduit, and residential distribution lines.

Recommended for utilities between four to six inches wide, including mid-size distribution lines and fiber ducts.

Recommended for utilities wider than six inches, including larger mains or multiple parallel runs.
For complete coverage beyond twelve inches wide we recommend installing multiple pieces of tape side-by-side.
14 AWG CCS Tracer Wire
The most popular detectable option for Signaltape®, offers a reliable balance of signal strength, flexibility, and cost for standard detection needs.
12 AWG CCS Tracer Wire
Provides higher conductivity and added durability for longer runs or applications requiring stronger signal transmission.
No Tracer Wire
Without opting to include tracer wire Signaltape® is nondetectable. This option is recommended for utilities that have success installing and maintaining other location methods.
Standard Legends
Standard legends are available with commonly used utility-specific warning language. Legends are available for: Water, Sewer, Reclaimed Water, Electric, Fiber, and Gas.
Customizable Legends
The digital printing process accommodates custom warning messages and full color-logos. This option is often selected to include an emergency contact number.
