Congestion is an increasingly common concern for utilities in urban areas.
Radiofrequency (RF) path markers embedded in marker tape provide a few unique benefits other technologies do not:
- No "bleed off" from one marker to another, an issue seen with tracer wire.
- Each utility type uses a distinct, identifiable frequency.
- Embedding RF path markers into marker tape at the correct intervals makes the installation process efficient and creates consistency.
- Markers do not require electricity to operate, which is not only convenient but ideal in situations such as after hazardous weather.
- Markers also do not require continuity. If there is damage to a portion of the tape, the remaining markers will still work.
