Tracetape™ locatable marker tape contains a jacketed tracer wire, this construct offers a greater resiliency than earlier versions of locatable marking tapes which were composed using foil.

The jacketed tracer wire is not prone to the same degradation as metallic/foil tapes which is caused by the aluminum's exposure to the elements.
